Buyers Can Claim a $30,000 Preconstruction Discount on Any New Townhome

Luxury Townhomes at Tall Oaks in Elgin
Wyndham Deerpoint Homes recently launched all new townhome designs at Tall Oaks in Elgin.


The trees are tall, the excitement is high and the sky’s the limit for buyers at Tall Oaks, now that Wyndham Deerpoint Homes has introduced all-new luxury townhomes at its Elgin community—-which had previously offered only single-family, semi-custom residences.

What’s more, to celebrate the kick-off of sales, buyers can choose from three distinctive townhome floorplans and save $30,000 for a limited time as a pre-construction discount, according to Nancy Mangano, Wyndham Deerpoint Homes on-site sales consultant at Tall Oaks.

"We are seeing a change in the market. People who have waited a year or two for a new home can’t wait any longer. They’ve seen what is out there and they are ready to make the move," she said.

Mangano noted that Wyndham Deerpoint Homes is offering the new townhomes in response to market demand for low-maintenance, attached homes.

"You have got a variety of shoppers out there, from singles and newlyweds to people who are downsizing and want the space of a single-family home but without all of its maintenance," Mangano said, noting that the community is popular among buyers from Bartlett, Hanover Park, Carol Stream, Elgin and Schaumburg. "We’re also in the highly popular Burlington School District 301 and people are gravitating to Tall Oaks for that reason as well."

The three townhome designs available offer plenty of curb appeal as they are all finished with HardiPlank fiber cement siding, stone siding and architectural roof shingles. Each plan also includes granite kitchen countertops, four-panel doors and a finished lower level; end units include an eight-foot high entry door.

"The quality of these residences sets Tall Oaks apart from other townhomes in the area," said Mangano. "We are truly offering luxury design and amenities that you cannot find elsewhere."

Among the big design plusses that are winning over many empty nesters is the fact that end units feature an optional elevator that can be completed in time for move-in or roughed in for future use.

"Some empty nesters are looking for the convenience of a townhome, but getting a townhome on one-level can be costly, so they are making advance plans to include an elevator for future convenience if and when they need it," added Mangano.

Tall Oaks townhome buyers can choose from three distinctive floorplans:
  • The Hearthstone features three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a family room, great room and formal dining room. The home features 2,165 square feet and can be had for a pre-construction price starting at $244,000 until April 30, 2008 when the base price increases to $274,000 (all prices subject to change without notice).
  • The Wyndstone is a raised ranch with three bedrooms, three full baths and an oversized family room. A vaulted ceiling in the kitchen and Great Room, along with an oversized garage, make this home feel very spacious. Boasting 2,297 square feet, the preconstruction price starts at $284,000.
  • The Keystone is another popular plan with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and an oversized kitchen and breakfast room. Featuring an optional step-down living room, the Keystone has 2,156 square feet and its pre-construction price starts at $239,900.

All townhomes include a 93% efficient gas furnace, professional landscape package, two-car garage, custom oak or birch cabinetry along with an energy-efficient General Electric stove, dishwasher and microwave. Buyers may also choose to have their home customized with a direct vent fireplace, dual master suite options with a deluxe master bath and an elevator, per plan. In addition, Wyndham Deerpoint Homes includes a 10-year transferable home warranty on all its townhomes.

Buyers in the market for a semi-custom single-family residence can still choose from 10 distinctive floorplans that include three ranch designs and two first-floor master plans, ranging in size from approximately 2,000 to 4,100 square feet. Base prices range from $409,800 to $539,750. Each home offers three to four bedrooms, two-and-a-half to four baths, two- to three-car garage, nine-foot first floor, wood-burning fireplace, kitchen with oak hardwood floor, 93% efficient gas furnace, fully sodded homesite with professional landscape package, full basement, and a professional, transferable 10-year Home Warranty.

Other standard amenities (depending on the plan) in every single-family home include den, first-floor master bedroom, volume ceilings, dual staircase, hearth room, large two-story foyer, and second-floor laundry. A loft, bonus room, sunroom, bay windows, Whirlpool tub, and upgraded trim are among the popular options available.

Set off Rt. 20 near the intersection of Russell and Plank Roads in the west portion of Elgin, Tall Oaks’ townhome portion is adjacent to its single-family homes portion, which was the setting for the Gallery of Homes 2006. It is located on a handsome parcel that boasts quarter-acre to half-acre estate-sized homesites (10,000- to 18,000-square-foot lots), mature, preserved trees, lush foliage and attractive landscaping, and ponds.

Mangano added that fully furnished towhhome models that visitors can tour are expected to open in the spring, and that first deliveries on the townhomes are anticipated by August.
